Microsoft ready to Cash In on Big Gamble

By Tony Bradley, PCWorld

Microsoft
revealed the date this week when it plans to start collecting on its
bets. As of October 26--the official release date for Windows 8--all the
cards will be on the table, and we will see if the gamble will pay off
or not.......

Any thoughts on it.

My husband and I both have it on our computers and like it. Spend $40 and you have a genuine windows 8.

I need to get a laptop before then so I still can get W7, laptops should be on major sale before that date.

I like Window 7 so the only way I would want Windows 8 is if I had a touch screen. Windows 8 looks really cool for touch screen but, not as good for a regular laptop.

Touch screen is certainly a thing of the future I agree.

What I wonder about a touch screen is you would have to sit upright and arm out to be touching the screen.

I am of the lazy type who sit back in my computer chair and relax. Any thoughts about that or do I have it wrong as I haven't really gone it to it very much.

touch screen is the future, yet I can't help but MS overselling it with W8.

I haven't really thought much about Windows 8, really happy with Windows 7 so i'm not bothered about changing at the moment.

number 1 rule of the world, if it works don't mess with it. You change and all hell breaks loose.

Metro is really annoying especially, how you're only allowed to have one browser and how the traditional start menu got changed into some irritating start screen.

Even turning the computer off has become much more of a hassle.
Windows 8 is one step forward and twenty steps back.

Windows 8 is pretty much predicted to be the biggest flop since Vista.
