Lol, this reminds me of the episode in Fairly oddparents when Timmy goes into the game world. And in the 3D spy kids movie. Who knows, maybe one of these days it can be possible.

I've seen some anime where people get trapped in the virtual reality world such as .hack and SAO although, that seems to be unlikely to happen in reality for the foreseeable future although, it might be possible in the distant future.

Looks like virtual reality had taken a large leap with a VR headset known as the Oculus Rift which tracks your head and eyes so, your virtual self has those move correspondingly which is said to be launched next year in 2013.

It's currently prototypes although, the finished consumer product will apparently go beyond full HD in terms of resolution but, not quite to 4K and seems like quite an interesting device for me to buy with the Wii U next year.
