Your thoughts?

I think it's ending soon, but not on 2012

I think that we will destroy the ozone by the end of 2013

As wreckage said, that will most likely happen.

The next world war will be fought with Chemicals

I don't believe in the End of the world. This theory has been brought up within the past 1000 years on multiple occations and has never happened yet

Zombies are quite friendly Sad

Anyways,

I do believe the end of the world will happen eventually but, not when anyone knows or can predict it. Too many dates have been predicted and none of them have happened. Cern 2008 prediction, Y2K and I am sure I am missing a few others. If by any chance the world does end that day, I will prepare with my favorite movies and food Very Happy Smile

I agree with bear, it won't happen soon, but we're not too far from it either.

When the world runs out of oil (and other such resources) then, that may bring upon the end of the world with total chaos in the streets due to the sheer reliance on them.

it wouldn't be the end of the world, it would just start a new race to electric cars

Electric cars? What do you think the energy they use is generated by. Oil, coal, etc. which are all resources which will be running out sooner or later.

Renewable energy adoption rates still pale in comparison to those energy sources.

Plastics, Petrol and Kerosene (jet fuel) are produced using oil.
Oil, coal, etc. provide most of the power to power grids.

The world would be long in chaos by the time anyone can build enough solar power plants and how exactly do you expect some flimsy panels to provide enough power for a plane? Giant batteries?

It's possible but, it would require covering a country with specially engineered plants and even then, the output wouldn't be too significant.

Each Government would have to work together to make oil, meaning each government would have to take a very large part of their country and turn it in to a HUGE Green house.

And what i mean by green house, i mean growing plants.

This would take Trillions upon Trillions upon Trillions of dollars, if not for each country

That's not going to happen.
For a start, the US national debt is in the trillions.

Same reason why we're not doing it right now :S

It cost to make the paper to make the money

It's kinda like this:
Pay a lot of money to make a few hundred bucks

Creating more money results in the value of the current money being driven down in a process known as inflation so, having more money around results in the money overall becoming more devalualised as businesses would charge more due to the greater availability of money.
